Batsheva Dance Company (Israel) - The Toxic Exotic Disappearance Act | House
A remarkable double bill: A piece that focuses on the tensions between pure exhibitionism and the urge to want to hide yourself and a piece that shows families in crisis and in prosperity.
Yasmeen Godder, invited by choreograph and artistic director Ohad Naharin to create for Batsheva, takes inspiration for this work from "Flamboya" - a book by photographer and designer Viviane Sassen. Godder created a piece in which screening, hiding, shadowing and disappearance allow the identity to expose, present and stay loyal to itself while creating a world which plays between limitation and fantasy.
Sharon Eyal and Gai Bachar created a piece that attempts to create crises of different kinds. The piece is comprised of small families coming together in gentleness and attention.
