De Grote Kunstshow (Netherlands) - De Grote Kunstshow met Erwin Olaf
In the autumn of 2025, a special edition of De Grote Kunstshow will take place, entirely dedicated to Erwin Olaf, one of the Netherlands' most famous artists. For the first time, this edition will be performed in no fewer than nine cities: Almere, Amersfoort, Amsterdam, Den Bosch, Haarlem, Groningen, Laren, Rotterdam and Utrecht.
Step into the world of Erwin Olaf during this one-and-a-half-hour viewing show. Admire his photos, characters, clothing and interiors. With actors (including Diewertje Dir), enthusiasts (Margriet van der Linden), music, monologues and interviews, Olaf's oeuvre is brought to life theatrically. Discover the stories behind highlights from his oeuvre and unknown work. Beauty ideals, activism, identity, vulnerability and eroticism are Erwin Olaf's fascinations - ideal ingredients for a stimulating Art Show.
Even before his death, the conversation with Olaf was about an Art Show dedicated to his work - he was enthusiastic and honoured. This edition is a must for those who want to get to know Olaf's special photographic legacy and the person behind the work better and differently. The presentation is in the hands of Flemish theatre maker Lucas De Man, known from AVROTROS' Kunstuur. He involves the audience in the Art Show and stimulates them with unexpected thoughts.
