Contemporary international performing arts<\/h3>\n

Van Baasbank & Co, founded by Jaap van Baasbank and JG Baggerman in 1985 in Amsterdam, is an international producer of multidisciplinary performing arts, including modern dance, musical theatre, percussion and literary programmes, everything from one-man shows to operas with a cast of 50 (and a horse) on stage. The performances know no language barriers and are artistically ground-breaking. Van Baasbank & Co is the executive producer of Julidans<\/a>; the former company name is\u00a0Van Baasbank & Baggerman. <\/p>\n

Van Baasbank & Co for TOT<\/h3>\n

Van Baasbank & Co productions are regarded as exceptional by theatres and the public, and are deemed to be of high artistic merit, but are not the simplest in terms of technical aspects and production. Also, the customs of many international companies deviate somewhat from the norm in the Netherlands. TOT sees it as a challenge to keep bringing these two worlds together.<\/p>\n

TOT for Van Baasbank & Co<\/h3>\n

TOT has provided the technical production for practically all of Van Baasbank & Co tours since 1997. TOT takes note of the companies\u2019 requirements, offsets these against the resources available in the theatres and finds a solution for all problems. TOT also creates a Dutch language technical rider listing all agreements and arranges the rental of any equipment required. In most cases, finds a Dutch stage manager for the tour and maintains close contact with all parties involved.<\/p>\n

The objective therefore is to get all interests on the same page: the performance is given the freedom it needs, yet within the budget and within the limits of Dutch legislation. Examples of regularly returning companies are Akram Khan Company<\/a>, \u00a0Ultima Vez \/ Wim Vandekeybus<\/a>, Compagnie Marie Chouinard<\/a>, Muziektheater Transparant<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Hiroaki Umeda<\/a>.<\/p>\n
